Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 11, 2026CashTrack ("the app," "we," "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information the app handles and how.
1. Data Storage: On-Device First
Every transaction, balance, note, account, category, and goal is stored on your device. The app works fully without an internet connection. We do not run any servers, and we do not collect, receive, or have access to your financial data.
Your data leaves your device in only two ways, and neither of them reaches us:
- Android's built-in backup. If backup is turned on for your Google account, Android may include CashTrack's data in your device backup (see Section 5).
- Exports and backup files you create yourself (see Section 4).
2. No Sign-Up, No Accounts, No Passwords
CashTrack does not ask you to create an account or give any personal information, such as your name, email, or phone number. There is no CashTrack profile and no login.
3. Zero Tracking & No Ads
CashTrack has no ads. It does not use analytics, tracking pixels, advertising IDs, or any third-party tracking or advertising services. Your financial habits are never monitored, profiled, or sold.
4. Data Ownership, Export & Backups
Your data is never locked in. In Settings → Import/Export you can:
- Create a backup file (free). This saves an account's full history as a CSV archive that you can import into CashTrack again later. Backups are free for everyone.
- Export an Excel (.xlsx) report (Premium). This is a readable report of a chosen year, made for use in other tools such as spreadsheets. It is export-only and cannot be imported back into the app.
When you export or back up, you choose where the file goes: your device storage, a cloud drive, email, or any other app on your phone. The file goes straight from your device to the place you choose. It never passes through our servers, because we don't have any.
5. Automatic Backups
CashTrack protects your data against loss in two ways:
- On-device backups. The app keeps automatic daily, weekly, and monthly copies of its database in its private storage on your phone. These never leave your device unless they are included in Android's backup (below).
- Android Auto Backup. If you have turned on backup for your Google account, Android may back up CashTrack's database and settings to your Google account. This lets you restore your data on a new phone or after reinstalling the app. This backup is run by Google, not by us. It is end-to-end encrypted using your device's screen lock, and CashTrack only allows it on devices that have a screen lock set. We cannot access this backup. You can turn it off at any time in your phone's settings (usually Settings → Google → Backup). Your Google account's privacy policy applies to it.
6. Notifications & Reminders
Bill reminders, logging nudges, and goal milestone alerts are scheduled and created entirely on your device. No outside notification servers are used, and no data is sent anywhere to trigger them.
7. In-App Purchases (Premium)
CashTrack is free, with everything you need to track your finances. There is one optional Premium upgrade, sold as a one-time purchase (not a subscription). It unlocks:
- Unlimited accounts (free: 2 accounts, including the built-in Test Account)
- Unlimited savings goals (free: 3 goals per account, including archived goals)
- The full Goal Analysis screen for each goal
- The expanded statistics screen
- Excel (.xlsx) report export
Purchases are handled by Google Play Billing. To confirm whether you own Premium, the app asks Google Play on your device and stores the answer locally, so Premium keeps working offline. We never receive your payment details, name, or email. Google handles all of this under the Google Play Privacy Policy.
8. Permissions
CashTrack asks only for permissions it needs for reminders:
- Notifications: to show reminders and goal alerts.
- Alarms & reminders (exact alarms): to deliver reminders at the exact time you set.
- Run at startup: to reschedule your reminders after your phone restarts.
CashTrack does not request access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, or photos. When you export, import, or share a file, Android's own file picker or share sheet opens, and the app can only use the file you pick.
9. Links to Other Apps
Some buttons open other apps: "Contact" opens your email app, and some Premium and update buttons open the Google Play Store. Whatever you do in those apps is covered by their own privacy policies.
10. Crash Reports
CashTrack contains no crash-reporting or diagnostics tools. If you have allowed your Android device to share usage and diagnostics data with Google, Google Play may show us anonymous crash statistics. These do not include your financial data.
11. Data Deletion
Because we don't store your data, we don't hold anything that could be deleted on request.
- Deleting data inside the app removes it from your device.
- Uninstalling the app removes all of its on-device data, including its automatic backups.
- If Android Auto Backup was on, a copy may stay in your Google account until you remove it there.
- Export or backup files you saved elsewhere stay there until you delete them.
12. Future Changes (Optional Cloud Sync)
If we ever add an optional cloud backup or sync feature, we will update this policy before it launches to explain what data is involved and how it is handled. Any such feature will be opt-in.
13. Children's Privacy
CashTrack is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will always show the latest revision. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
